My name is Russell Field, and I like to make things.

I'm an experienced designer, engineer, and manager. I've led large and small teams, coached and mentored more than a hundred students, and worked on projects ranging from skyscrapers to industrial automation to furniture design. I've been the first engineering hire at a hypergrowth company, I've led a mature manufacturer through acquisition, and I've helped companies pursue excellence and continuous improvement in their day to day operations. I'm dedicated to the pursuit of understanding through data and engineering, and I love working alongside those who feel the same. I currently work in medical robotics in the Bay Area.

When I'm not scraping foundry sand from my boots I'm usually out running trails, experimenting in the kitchen, backcountry skiing with friends, and planning my next surf trip.
