My name is Russell Field, and I like to make things.

I'm an experienced designer, engineer, and manager. I've led large and small teams, coached and mentored hundreds of engineers, and worked on projects ranging from furniture design to medical robotics. I've been the first engineering hire at a fast-growing startup, I've led a mature manufacturer through acquisition, and I've helped companies pursue excellence and continuous improvement in their day to day operations. I'm dedicated to the pursuit of understanding through data and engineering, and I love working alongside those who feel the same. I currently work in medical robotics in the Bay Area.

When I'm not at work or captivated by a personal project I’m generally experimenting in the kitchen, roaming coastal trails with my wife and two dogs, or exploring the mountains on skis or a bike.
